The Area has a vast array of history, from D-Day to Guillaume le Conquérant of 1066 and Caen Castle, with many other attractions and places of interest. 

A rich sporting history from Horse Racing ( Petite Vincennes Trotting ) to Cycling and lots of points in between, Infact the Tour De France 2016 commences @ Mont St Michel, has three full days in Manche and it arrives Utah Beach & enters Carentan and St Lo itself.

There is rich and varied landscape, vast changes in the view here, the Marais is flooded over winter and becomes a bird sanctuary, the coastline is impressive and the landscape is one that Monet painted often, Normandy is the Birthplace of Impressionism.
