We ARE a dog friendly Gite and it is set up to be friendly towards those with a disability / wheelchair also, this is quite rare here in Normandie, the law has recently been changed towards disability access but the French Government gave a leeway to businesses of 5 years to comply....

We have a dog of our own, an English Staff , she is kept upstairs with us.

She absolutely loves the beach life, the warmth and freedom of Normandy, We are positive your dog will too.

There is a local English Speaking Vet in St Jean de Daye, to make passport checks for return to UK as simple as possible, currently only Worming is required 48 hours BEFORE return travel ( the Time that you Board the Ferry ).

Finding HERE is very simple.

1A Le Mont, Graignes, 50620, Normandie.

50620 is the " Postcode " of the entire village, which is a large area.

The House on Google View

If in doubt or lost, best advice is : Park up at the village centre by the mayors office, brasserie / boulangerie, send me a message or a quick call and I will collect you within a few minutes.

It's a small village.... Both Jean-Michel at the Brasserie and Francois at the Boulangerie know where to find the house, both also have a good understanding of English, Francois especially.

We are 41 miles South of Cherbourg & it's dual carriageway all the way to the Carentan junction AFTER the Pont Canal, at off ramp roundabout take the SECOND exit marked St Jean De Daye, after about 2 miles you cross a Railway line and it's a Right at the sign marked Graignes 7Km, follow that road till you come to a T junction at a Large Water Tower, turn Right, follow that road, you do NOT want to go to MAISON des ORMES... Follow the main road, it twists and winds a little but if you stay on it you Drive right up to the house on top of the hill.

We are 52 miles from Caen Ferry Port, and again its Dual Carriageway with one turn off to join Peripherique just after the Herouville shopping centre. There is an Active Speed Camera on junction run off, it is a tight - short entrance on to the Peripherique. It's dual carriageway straight to Carentan, take the First Carentan Junction you come to, THEN take FIRST exit at off ramp roundabout { back over the moterway, THEN you want the SECOND exit marked St Jean De Daye.

After about 2 miles you cross a Railway line and its a Right at the sign marked Graignes 7Km, Follow that road till you come to a T junction at a Large Water Tower, turn Right, follow that road, you do NOT want to go to MAISON des ORMES... Follow the main road, it twists and winds a little but if you stay on it you Drive right upto the house on top of the hill.

There are Fast Ferries from Portsmouth to Cherbourg, a three hour hydrofoil journey, and six hour crossings from Portsmouth / Poole to Cherbourg or Caen.

Le Havre is two hours away and @ 20 Euros on Toll roads, Pont Normandie and two other Paysage booths { Change would be really helpful although you can use card to pay }.

Flights from Southampton or London Southend to Rennes, about a two hour drive on dual carriageway all the way to St Jean de Daye, 9Km from the house, and a simple drive to the village centre where I will be happy to come collect you.         There are flights to Caen { Carpiquet fifty mins drive and no tolls } or Dinard { Dinard eighty mins drive and it's a rural airport, no tolls }

As an Option, there is plenty of covered storage space for those that wish to bring a Caravan and use here as a stop off point before or after a long drive from further South.

Or leave your caravan here in our Secure Covered Winter Storage rather than pay the return fee for Ferry Travel for it, and collect it next season.
